Where the Clarence River meets the Pacific, two towns sit five minutes apart and a world apart. Yamba's Main Beach with the Pacific Hotel watching over it. Angourie's point break, where some of Australia's best surfers learned to read a wave. We've shot this stretch from above at first light and through summer afternoons — Norfolk pines on the headland, the long sand spit running south, water that goes from milky turquoise to deep teal in a single frame.
